Even before we got to the national park, we were already viewing wildlife like bushbucks and zebras. The views are breath taking for the flat landscape creates a perfect experience. Lynett Nakamanya guided us in this trip. Kidepo Valley National Park is located in the northeastern region of Uganda, near the borders with South Sudan and Kenya. The park covers an area of approximately 1,442 square kilometers and was established in 1958. It is considered one of the most remote national parks in Uganda and is known for its rugged savannah landscapes, abundant wildlife, and stunning scenery that’s why Tugendeafrik.com likes this park. The park is named after the Kidepo River, which flows through it, and the valley in which it is situated. The landscape of the park is characterized by rugged hills and mountains, vast savannah plains, and scattered patches of woodland. The park is home to over 77 mammal species, including several predators such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, and hyenas, as well as large herds of elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, and various antelopes. Kidepo Valley National Park is also a birding paradise, with over 475 bird species recorded within its borders. Some of the notable bird species found in the park include ostriches, Kori bustards, secretary birds, and various species of raptors. In the morning after breakfast, we set out for some activities, including game drives and bird watching. We were also informed that in case we wanted, we could have nature walks, and cultural visits to the local Karamojong community. The park also offers unique accommodation options, which offer stunning views of the park. Despite its remote location, Kidepo Valley National Park has become increasingly popular with tourists in recent years, drawn by its unique landscapes, diverse wildlife, and rich cultural heritage. We created lasting memories with Girls Travel Africa  as our service provider. Can’t wait to go back. Please carry some insect repellent
